Good day commanders! With the increase of Recon's popularity we observed a surge of knowledgeable individuals joining the community or just roaming around.
The Mud and Blood Wiki has been closed for account creation for a little while in order to prevent attacks. We are happy to announce that the Wiki will be open for account creation for a week. So, if you think you got what it takes to contribute then head over to our account creation page and sign up, and start enlightening the new players in the intricate ways of jungle warfare.

PSN is down? No problem. We've got you covered here :) Good day Rangers. After the release of our new mission system, here's the polished version of our latest Recon build. A lot of bugs and glitches were addressed and a new VC unit has been added to the game: the VC Commander. A smart soldier that directs enemies currently deployed in the AO to work together. First and foremost Merry Christmas to all Mud and Blood Commanders out there! We wish you the bestest of holly days with your families and friends.
As promised the new mission system has been dropped for xmas. This is the result of many hours of love and hard work combined many suggestions from our forums. 1.0p* is the early build however. A ton more features will come with the new mission system but we really wanted you to give it a shot for xmas. Your profile should not be affected (we know some of you really worked hard to get where you are) but we recommend a reset.
In a nutshell the new mission system give you the commander a choice of one mission per rank. Each missions have their own requirements which get more challenging as you rank up. The new mission system gives you a more in depth perspective of why you are accomplishing certain mission and how it will affect the war.
We also tweaked the VCs path finding abilities allowing some interesting/violent encounters in testing.
Another update should come shortly finalizing the overall rejig of the mission system and polishing the already implemented mechanisms such as the ribbons and secondary missions.

Good morning commanders. The patch 1.0n is now uploaded and bring new elements to your favorite jungle warfare sandbox game. We now have 2 new support options bringing massive fire power (spectre gunship) to the table and crucial oversight over the AO (Bird Dog low passes). The VietCongs are also bringing their A game with a new element (mortar crew) and a rewritten situation awareness algorithm. Now, the VC's suspiciousness will gradually increase every time your mission goes overt. Our enemies are also laying flare traps around the jungle now.

Good day commanders, we know you have been waiting for a while for this one. But here it is the most substantial recon patch so far. In this bundle of love and destruction we are packing gunners for the hueys, medevacs and numerous other additions (click read more for the patch details).
Being a big patch and introducing fairly significative changes, we will need your help to track down the issues that might arise during gameplay. Please head over to our forums and help us or even if you have a question about the new stuff.

Good day commanders, we are stoked about the new version being uploaded bringing us closer to a final release and adding more content to your favorite military sand box game. More content means more surprise for you and more nightmarish situations to survive through :) .. hopefully.
This said we have made some changes to our community structure in order to better tackle the new activity driven by the recent Recon traffic.
First we have a deputy community manager, Lance which has, since few months, already have stepped up to the plate. It was just natural to officialise it. Lance has been of a tremendous help producing pertinent community driven material and initiative.
We have a new admin for our wiki, Riderx. Rider's wiki skills are unmatched by the common mortals as we can testify only by looking at the new wiki front page. Speaking of wiki, Hyppa has moved up to officer and Reid to NCO.
The forums will get a little rejig as well but more to follow on that.
This said, a new version of Recon is being uploaded providing us with 2 more submissions, a fix to the ammo problem and a few more toys to mess with. Hit read more for the change log.

One big change that many of you guys were waiting for is the ability to call an extract somewhere else than at the main LZ.
So as of version K, LZs will be of one of the three types:
- Main LZ: Appears on the mini-map as a red LZ. The one you start with and generally inserted from.
- Secondary LZ: appears on the mini-map as a blue LZ. These are the LZs that your rangers will spot and identify for you. They are proven safe and will accommodate an extract if the smoke is placed in the center of the clearing. It is important to toss the smoke EXACTLY where you want the chopper to descend. A little to much to the right or left, will end up being denied by the pilot when he sees you are asking him to cut trees with his blades. So be careful with those smokes.
- Impromptu LZ: LZs that -you- the commander, determine have the clearance to accommodate an extract. It could be a clearing in the jungle or even rice paddies. These are tricky since a chopper -will not- land if the clearance is not big enough for it, leading to all sort of bad urb things potentially. Impromptu follows the same rules as far as smokes and other future indicators goes.
Now that the LZ clearing rule is enforced at all levels, the main LZ is also cleared and will always be. So no one asks you to be creative on the field . Do you want to stick to the safe and proven main (or you are out of smoke) ? Then hit the main LZ. If your day is not hard enough then start being creative and go with a secondary or an impromptu. :)

Just in time for the weekend! Another quick patch that fixes few issues and also implement a game feature that we were really looking forward to. Support teams!, that's right hard ballers, now the VC has a chance to deploy in the field with support teams such as snipers. In future versions RPG, PK, Mortars and Sappers.
